December, December...I will always remember. {Two thousand & thirteen}

About a whole month away from blogging...Kinda crazy! But MUCH needed. While Scott was training, Mallow & I treked across country to spend some time in Utah. Two wonderful weeks. The only part that would have made it even better was if my Husband would have been able to come with us.

Some Highlights:
Mallow enjoyed her first snow. All fifteen inches of it!
Best friend time!
Much needed quality family time.
Christmas tree hunting.
Sibling dates.
Women bible studies.
My Grandpa's 70th (!!!) birthday party.
Cooking for the fam.
Christmas parties!
Many lunch, coffee, & dinner dates.
Coffee cake & stockings.
 And definitely lots of laughter.

Seriously, going home was my jump start to what is ahead in 2014.

Fast forward past all of the airplane troubles--nine hours on a plane {six just sitting on the slc runway}, then spending the night in Atlanta-- to the welcome home from Scott
Priceless.

I only had twelve hours before packing up again for our trip to Charlotte & the amazing Costa Rica!!!
Family time.
Spontaneous Jazz game.
A drenching wet Saints game.
First flight together.
Airplane troubles, again--missing our flight.
Staying the night in Atlanta.
ARRIVED IN COSTA RICA.
National park.
Monkeys, sloths, & raccoons.
Gorgeous beaches.
Cousin time.
Christmas dinner in a WW2 B-52 bomber airplane.
Copious amounts of laughter.
Zip-lining in the rain forest.
Two different kinds of Tucans.
Repelling down waterfalls, my favorite!
 An amazing home.
Our new Costa Rican cousin.
 Learning Spanish.
Delicious food & yummy drinks.
Deep sea fishing, Scott and I catching dinner.
Snorkeling on Tortuga Island.
Fancy dinner night.
Favorite cousin competition.
Our pet spider Peter Parker.
Alligators.
Breath taking, romantic sunsets.
Second honeymoon.

We had such a wonderful time and decided that we are eventually moving there. Yup, it's already decided.
Even thought it was amazing to spend Christmas with family, it was a very special Christmas for Scott and I.

Our first Christmas together, I left for Australia.
Our second Christmas together, he just moved to North Carolina.
And this year--our first Christmas being married--we were able to spend the whole day together.. in COSTA RICA
Cherished, for forever.
Thank you to my new family for this opportunity!

Another addition to the list of why this Christmas was being extra cherished is because Scott is soon to deploy.
Quality time together is the only thing on our minds.
So if we go MIA, that would be the explanation.
I need this time with my Husband.

Thank you for reading all of our latest adventures!
Two thousand & fourteen is going to be a challenging year,
making Scott & I stronger.
Much stronger as a couple and individuals.
Will you please pray for us during this time apart,
and the other couples?! Please and thank you!
I am so very excited for Scott, and extremely proud of the man he is. The man who fights for MY freedom. My family's freedom.
Your freedom.
I am also excited for the extra time I will be having with my family & friends in Utah.
All of the special moments that will be going on.
{Keep tuned, Such exciting moments!}

Six wonderful months & an enchanting Military Ball

Scott & my thankful tree for this November!
SIX MONTHS
I still can't believe that I have been Mrs. Scott Cummings for six wonderful months
Married to my best friend, the love of my life.
Honestly-- a dream come true.
It definitely hasn't all been perfect without any flaws, marriage is such a learning experience. Plus you add in being a military couple, that adds in a whole different aspect to it. We have to learn how to mesh two lives together, and sometimes we have to do that apart. And that's only been his training so far.
In a few months, it will be a deployment of 6+ months. Ugh.
But you know what?! It's worth it. God has been there with us through everything, in the center.
The military life is NOT for just anyone. It absolutely isn't for the weak. I had one of my friends be my mentor during Scott and my whole relationship and she told me all that goes into a military marriage.
The good, the bad, & the ugly.
But she also told me all of the romantic-ness of it all.
And well, I am a hopeless romantic at heart.
Waiting for him, learning more about him, learning more about myself, writing letters, writing emails, praying for each other, homecomings, first kisses, tight hugs.
It's very hard, don't get me wrong.. but I LOVE IT! We have the best support out there and we are loving living in completely different places. It's been such an adventure so far, and the best part?!
It's {only} been six months!
We have a life time together and we've only experienced six months of it so far. I can't wait to read this post in a few years and remind myself of the beginning. Where it all began. Where we took on this life adventure together as Husband & Wife. Hand in hand. Where we started in North Carolina and are hopefully somewhere fresh and new. Maybe even a little one on the way. {maybe ha}
So for now, here's to six months of being Scott's AMAZING wife! ;]

Here's a picture of our anniversary dinner.
Homemade chicken noodle soup with my attempt at making heart-shaped carrots... with a little hiccup of cutting my finger :/ No big deal, I only almost passed out and had to sit down with my head between my knees for a while.

I just have to share something that made the Hubs & I laugh so hard last night as we were going to bed. Throughout our relationship he has told me some fun bedtime stories, and if they are texts I have saved them. So we were looking through my notes in my Iphone to find the stories I have saved and came across these: Funny Groom Sayings.
During our engagement, my groom was absolutely clueless great! ha There were times that I just HAD to document the funny things he had said. Here are a FEW:

"Can we have a mechanical bull at the reception?"

"Can we get married in swim suits?"

Him: "So, I don't know how this wedding stuff works.. but at my cousins wedding, she had purple dresses and then the guys' vests were purple. Can we have like a light purple or something?"
Me: "Uhm.. No babe, ha they match the dresses. My girls' dresses are turquoise, so they will be turquoise."

And the one that we died {again} to...
Him: "Why didn't we just elope?! This planning stuff is stressful!"
Me: "Uh Babe... What planning are you doing?!"
Him: "Exactly! I'm not even doing any of it and it's stressing me out!"

Hahah men.

MILITARY BALL
Our first Military Ball was this last weekend, happy birthday to the Marine Corps! It was such an exciting night.
The Ball was in Wilmington, one of our favorite places.
There were thousands of couples and everyone looked stunning. Especially all of the men in uniform!
{Luckily, mine stood out in his handsome Navy uniform!}
We brought Mallow and we had a great next morning spoiling her all around town. Wilmington is known for their dog-loving nature.

Girls, be patient & wait...

I originally wrote this for a Facebook status when Scott and I were engaged and thought that I would share it on my blog. I want to encourage all of the girls and women who read my blog. To the girls who need to trust and give God the pen to their love story. He truly amazes you by the love stories he scripts, just ask me. The best decision of my life was to finally give God the pen to all of my stories, and He definitely showed off with my love story with my husband Scott!
So girls, trust me when I tell you to trust HIM

Girls,

Wait for the man that will completely adore you! That will try to not be caught when he is completely memorized by you! Wait for the man who is a gentleman, not only to you but to everyone. Wait for the man who puts God first, so he will be able to love you the way you were created to receive love. Wait for the man who fully respects you and doesn’t make you uncomfortable in any way. Wait for the man who knows how you think and prays with you. Wait for the man who you can call your best friend! Wait for the man that you would love your own son to be exactly like! Wait for the man who challenges you—makes you smarter, lovelier, friendlier, and all around better! Wait for the man who will prove to everyone that you belong to him…and him alone! Wait for the man who you can spend hourrrrs on the phone with! Wait for the man who makes you giggle. Wait for the man that would transform his whole day just to be able to talk or be with you! Wait for the man who sends you flowers--just because. Wait for the man that will write letters to when you are worlds apart! Wait for the man that God created JUST for you.
Be patient… HE IS OUT THERE! Trust me! ♥

And girls… be the woman that the gentleman wants! Don’t let anger or jealousy take over. Be the woman who looks for the good in everyone—it’s there! Be the woman who he strives to be like. Be the woman who he wouldn’t have imagined he was lucky enough to chase after! Be the woman who loves fully! Be the woman who loves God first, so she can love him like Jesus loves her! Be the woman who he has to find God first and then can dance with you!

Be the woman who is worth the wait! ♥

Bring on the Competition!

Bring on the Competition!
Our church here in Jacksonville put on a Trunk or Treat for the adults, I mean the kids of course! Our bible study group, the POP {Princesses of Papa}, decorated two trunks for the event.

One-----Monster's Inc. Which was adorable!

Two-----Disney Princess, Get it? POP, "Princesses" of Papa. AND we used Lucee as our trunk! She is a true Princess, even if I couldn't find her fabulous eyelashes.

 Minnie Mouse {who is definitely the Queen of Disney ha}

 Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, & Minnie!

Some of the POP group!
It really was like a trip to Disneyland for the little kiddies.
We were THAT convincing ;]

I just HAD to capture this moment.
Minnie Mouse & my " Mini" Mouse.
Get it?! Huh, huh, huh?! Sometimes I make myself laugh too much...

 Lucee's wand and crown!

I have to add this gem.
My adorable sister and her cute friends in Utah!
