Six wonderful months & an enchanting Military Ball

Scott & my thankful tree for this November!
SIX MONTHS
I still can't believe that I have been Mrs. Scott Cummings for six wonderful months
Married to my best friend, the love of my life.
Honestly-- a dream come true.
It definitely hasn't all been perfect without any flaws, marriage is such a learning experience. Plus you add in being a military couple, that adds in a whole different aspect to it. We have to learn how to mesh two lives together, and sometimes we have to do that apart. And that's only been his training so far.
In a few months, it will be a deployment of 6+ months. Ugh.
But you know what?! It's worth it. God has been there with us through everything, in the center.
The military life is NOT for just anyone. It absolutely isn't for the weak. I had one of my friends be my mentor during Scott and my whole relationship and she told me all that goes into a military marriage.
The good, the bad, & the ugly.
But she also told me all of the romantic-ness of it all.
And well, I am a hopeless romantic at heart.
Waiting for him, learning more about him, learning more about myself, writing letters, writing emails, praying for each other, homecomings, first kisses, tight hugs.
It's very hard, don't get me wrong.. but I LOVE IT! We have the best support out there and we are loving living in completely different places. It's been such an adventure so far, and the best part?!
It's {only} been six months!
We have a life time together and we've only experienced six months of it so far. I can't wait to read this post in a few years and remind myself of the beginning. Where it all began. Where we took on this life adventure together as Husband & Wife. Hand in hand. Where we started in North Carolina and are hopefully somewhere fresh and new. Maybe even a little one on the way. {maybe ha}
So for now, here's to six months of being Scott's AMAZING wife! ;]

Here's a picture of our anniversary dinner.
Homemade chicken noodle soup with my attempt at making heart-shaped carrots... with a little hiccup of cutting my finger :/ No big deal, I only almost passed out and had to sit down with my head between my knees for a while.

I just have to share something that made the Hubs & I laugh so hard last night as we were going to bed. Throughout our relationship he has told me some fun bedtime stories, and if they are texts I have saved them. So we were looking through my notes in my Iphone to find the stories I have saved and came across these: Funny Groom Sayings.
During our engagement, my groom was absolutely clueless great! ha There were times that I just HAD to document the funny things he had said. Here are a FEW:

"Can we have a mechanical bull at the reception?"

"Can we get married in swim suits?"

Him: "So, I don't know how this wedding stuff works.. but at my cousins wedding, she had purple dresses and then the guys' vests were purple. Can we have like a light purple or something?"
Me: "Uhm.. No babe, ha they match the dresses. My girls' dresses are turquoise, so they will be turquoise."

And the one that we died {again} to...
Him: "Why didn't we just elope?! This planning stuff is stressful!"
Me: "Uh Babe... What planning are you doing?!"
Him: "Exactly! I'm not even doing any of it and it's stressing me out!"

Hahah men.

MILITARY BALL
Our first Military Ball was this last weekend, happy birthday to the Marine Corps! It was such an exciting night.
The Ball was in Wilmington, one of our favorite places.
There were thousands of couples and everyone looked stunning. Especially all of the men in uniform!
{Luckily, mine stood out in his handsome Navy uniform!}
We brought Mallow and we had a great next morning spoiling her all around town. Wilmington is known for their dog-loving nature.

Girls, be patient & wait...

I originally wrote this for a Facebook status when Scott and I were engaged and thought that I would share it on my blog. I want to encourage all of the girls and women who read my blog. To the girls who need to trust and give God the pen to their love story. He truly amazes you by the love stories he scripts, just ask me. The best decision of my life was to finally give God the pen to all of my stories, and He definitely showed off with my love story with my husband Scott!
So girls, trust me when I tell you to trust HIM

Girls,

Wait for the man that will completely adore you! That will try to not be caught when he is completely memorized by you! Wait for the man who is a gentleman, not only to you but to everyone. Wait for the man who puts God first, so he will be able to love you the way you were created to receive love. Wait for the man who fully respects you and doesn’t make you uncomfortable in any way. Wait for the man who knows how you think and prays with you. Wait for the man who you can call your best friend! Wait for the man that you would love your own son to be exactly like! Wait for the man who challenges you—makes you smarter, lovelier, friendlier, and all around better! Wait for the man who will prove to everyone that you belong to him…and him alone! Wait for the man who you can spend hourrrrs on the phone with! Wait for the man who makes you giggle. Wait for the man that would transform his whole day just to be able to talk or be with you! Wait for the man who sends you flowers--just because. Wait for the man that will write letters to when you are worlds apart! Wait for the man that God created JUST for you.
Be patient… HE IS OUT THERE! Trust me! ♥

And girls… be the woman that the gentleman wants! Don’t let anger or jealousy take over. Be the woman who looks for the good in everyone—it’s there! Be the woman who he strives to be like. Be the woman who he wouldn’t have imagined he was lucky enough to chase after! Be the woman who loves fully! Be the woman who loves God first, so she can love him like Jesus loves her! Be the woman who he has to find God first and then can dance with you!

Be the woman who is worth the wait! ♥

Bring on the Competition!

Bring on the Competition!
Our church here in Jacksonville put on a Trunk or Treat for the adults, I mean the kids of course! Our bible study group, the POP {Princesses of Papa}, decorated two trunks for the event.

One-----Monster's Inc. Which was adorable!

Two-----Disney Princess, Get it? POP, "Princesses" of Papa. AND we used Lucee as our trunk! She is a true Princess, even if I couldn't find her fabulous eyelashes.

 Minnie Mouse {who is definitely the Queen of Disney ha}

Some of the POP group!
It really was like a trip to Disneyland for the little kiddies.
We were THAT convincing ;]

I have to add this gem.
My adorable sister and her cute friends in Utah!

Why I love making our bed!

Making Scott & my bed each and every day is one of my "wifey" duties that I absolutely LOVE doing.
"Why?" you ask.
My amazing Pastor Marty had us do a pre-marriage counseling course. Because Scott and I had a long distance engagement, we had to do it online apart and then would talk about it together on the phone afterwards.
One of the last sessions was the wife talking about making their bed and how she makes it so special by praying over her and her husbands relationship.
I adopted this and made it my own.

I love having the alone time praying to God about every aspect of my relationship with my Husband.
Praying that God would protect our relationship.
That God would help grow us closer to Him & closer to each other.
That when we are apart, God will make us stronger.
Praying for us spiritually, physically, and emotionally.
That God would help keep our bedroom sacred.
That God would keep satan out and very far away from our home.
That God would give Scott the strength to lead our family.
That God will give me the strength to keep order in our home.
Thanking for all of our blessings.
To keep our love growing & stronger than anything!

So this is why making our bed is one of my favorite things to do. It is so peaceful to me and such a great way for me to grow closer not only to Scott, but to my God.
I need that more than anything
I also love that it is serving Scott, wifey brownie points! :]

If you are engaged, I really advise pre-marriage counseling.
If you are married, I advise you to try to pray over your relationship with your husband when you are doing the chore of making the bed.
If you are dating or single, I advise you to pray for your future husband and the relationship that you will share.

Now go earn some wifey brownie points! ;]

One of the best weeks in North Carolina!

Well here it is everyone, the post about one of my favorite weeks here in North Carolina.

MY FAMILY CAME!
I was so excited when my mom decided to plan a girls trip to see me [all but my aunt..but she's too good for us and hunted in Montana instead haha Love you Taffy!] But it was so much fun to have a count down with my mom & help plan all of the fun things we wanted to do.
So here are pictures of our adventures!

Keni, Kenz, Grandma, & Mummy Dearest leaving Utah.

First things first, BEACH TRIP! After we went to church, we just had to go put our toes in the sand and wade in the ocean.

 Mommy hugs, THE best.

 The Mr. kissing his Mrs.

 Mallow moo, soaked.

The first rain storm that we got caught in!

Vineyards & Mountains.

We helped rescue a baby sea turtle!!

Mikes Farm, Hayride, & the pumpkin patch.

We had a littttttle fun! But no, we are not expecting.
{Well, I'M not...Scott ha}

Early birthday to Mummy, late birthday to Grandma,

Second rain storm, driving in Lucee! :/

We had a great girls night. Nails, girl talk, & had my dad tell us a bedtime story on the phone!

Ritas. Delicious!

I definitely needed a visit from my family and loved every moment! Even the chaotic moments, realizing each moment was a blessing. I thank my family for coming to visit and also my loving Husband for letting five girls be in his house for a week. One lucky man!
I love you guys! Now only a month & a half till I come visit!
