Sandy Toes and Salty Kisses!

Mallows first time seeing the ocean. Our first beach picnic.

She didn't like the ocean, but loves water...? Yah, I don't know either.

My favorite! I found this vintage picnic basket and HAD to get it!

 I had to. It just has been so, summer-y lately and that reminded me of my mom making garden salsa. I decided that Scott needed to know how well his wife makes homemade garden salsa ;]... 

HE LOVED IT! Yay me!! 

Mallow and I decided that it was an "iced coffee-cruise in Lucee" kind of hot summer day! So we got into Lucee and headed over to Starbucks to use the great gift card I received. The thing is, Mallow hated the heat. 
Poor thing. So she went on the floor of the car and under the seat!

Saturday we went to Emerald Island, enjoyed the pouring rain and awesome food. Watched Despicable Me 2. 

Then spent the rest of the night cuddling, our favorite! 

 Awe, my poor Husband felt sick the last part of the weekend. And on Sunday morning he didn't want to get out of bed. So what did the best wifey ever do?! Bake him delicious blueberry muffins and hot tea. And guess what?! It did the trick. 

Recipe to make your Husband feel better:

1 platter of blueberry muffins

1 cup hot tea

1 cup coffee (to give the wife some energy ha)

Unlimited sugary kisses

1 yummy blanket, stitched with love

Enjoy together while wrapped in each others arms on the couch for the rest of the morning! 

Scott is starting to be very busy with his trainings for his deployment and this verse caught my eye. It is so very true and something that Scott and I always tell each other. With God, nothing is impossible and we will always feel connected with God being in the center. 

This verse will also help me when he can't come home at night and I have to resort to cuddling Mallow and Jack-Jack. 

Fourth of July

Scott and I were so excited to celebrate the Fourth together, we have been limited of the holidays we've been able to celebrate together. This Fourth was such a different experience, I am now a proud Military wife! Freedom has a whole new meaning to me. We decided to spend the weekend up in Virginia with family and tour Williamsburg! 

We were trying to get to the Naval hospital to watch the fireworks, but the traffic was horrible. We ended up watching them at a cemetery. The fireworks were amazing, but the company as the best part! Surrounded by Scott, his aunt, and uncle. All serving in the Navy...So proud of them!

When I was in seventh grade my private school, UBCA, took a field trip to Washington, D.C. It was such a great trip, with all my friends. One of the days, we drove to Williamsburg. I've always remembered it to be the most humid day of the whole trip, but one of the best days! Scott hadn't ever been and I was so excited to create more memories with him. He also loves history, so this was such a great trip!

One of the things that I remember from our field trip was the Taverns food. Scott and I found the King's Arms Tavern and had a delicious lunch.

I had delicious homemade chicken pot pie. Scott had a beef stroganoff and homemade rootbeer.

We had to try their dessert, peppermint ice cream and pecan pie!

I have a picture like this with Amber and I, so I asked Scott to take a picture with me! I need to find the old one:)

We also went to Jamestown. It was very cool to think this was the very first settlement of the US.

Right as we were leaving we found Bambi and a little water snake!

Mallow stayed behind and was having the time of her life! She was playing with their big dogs, thinking she is their size. She kept attacking them and using them as her chew toy.

 

Before we headed back on Saturday, we had a pool party with Aunt Kathy and her family. Mallow loves to play in water, but I'm not sure if she's ready to start swimming anytime soon. She sure looks funny being wet though... bless her heart!

We got home, relaxed, and loved the quality of time together. Sunday we went to church and had an awesome message. The associate pastor has a huge mohawk! Then had a Pirates of the Carribean marathon and ended the night with some reading. Perfect.

A family weekend in Virginia

Last week, Scott and I were getting ready for church when I noticed that I had two missed calls from his mom and sister. You know that gut feeling that something is wrong? I had that. I then told Scott that he probably had missed calls and that he needed to call his mom. His grandfather had passed away. The rest of the week was a blur as Scott worked and we made plans to drive up to Virginia for the funeral and to help his family out. I had just barely met his grandpa at our wedding and then a couple of weeks later when we stopped by his house. We were so blessed to have him there to help celebrate such an amazing day for us [My ring is the ring he gave Scott's grandmother when they were married]. It is such a hard thing for anyone to experience. I remember going through this a few years ago when my grandpa passed away from dumb, stupid cancer. All I could do was feel heartbreak for my new family. 

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. 

 

Mallow was helping us pack and saw her reflection for the first time! I'm thinking she liked what she saw, because she really is the cutest thing EVER. This was her first road trip and all she did was sleep. In every awkward position possible! Silly puppy dog.

 

 

 We discovered how much Mallow loves tall grass, and trying to think she can hide from us! Scott's cousin Kayla loved playing with Mallow and kept calling her "the polar bear". 

 

We had a relaxing pool day at the house where we were staying. It was much needed and was so much fun to get to know his family better.

 

Saturday night we had a crab picking night with all of the family and some friends! I have never picked crab, but it sure was a fun social event. I loved where I was sitting--in between Scott and his uncle who would pick the crab and give me some of the meat. And that is how it is done! =]

 

Such a beautiful place that we live in. The East Coast is so breathtakingly green! On the way home, we stopped for a break and I had to capture this perfect picture of my man and our baby girl. Awe, he's so attractive as a puppy-daddy. When we got home Mallow chased a tree frog into our house. She's so playful and funny, but didn't know what to do once the frog was jumping around.

Although this weekend was so tough, it was good to see Scott's family and spend more time with them. Seeing his mom helped with some of the homesickness and she loved her little grandpuppy! They all discovered new and different things about his Grandpa, like finding a love letter he wrote to his grandma while he was on a ship! So special. I'm so lucky to be a part of such an amazing family!
